  1. MultiMode Menus

  3. There are several options under the File  menu to save or print decoded information:

  5. New Log File...
  6. This allows you to start up a log file. All subsequent text decoded will be saved in this file. Ideal for unattended monitoring.

  9. Append To Log File...
  10. Similar to the above, except that it appends new information on to the end of an existing text file.
  11.  
  12.  
  13. Close Log File...
  14. Stops writing decoded text to a log file, and flushes any unwritten text to the file. You must select this option when you are done storing interceptions to a file, or some information may be lost.

  17. Save PICT...
  18. This allows you to save a FAX or SSTV picture to disk. It is stored as a PICT file. The creator/type IDs are set for opening with JPEG Viewer, although any of the popular image applications may be used.

  21. Save Text As...
  22. This allows you to save the decoded text to disk. It is stored as a plain text file. The creator/type IDs are set for opening with TeachText or SimpleText, although any of the popular word processors or text editors may be used.

  25. Page Setup...
  26. The usual Page Setup dialog is displayed.

  29. Print. PICT..
  30. This allows you to print a FAX or SSTV image. Text printing is not yet available.

  33. Decode From WAVE File...
  34. This allows you to select a WAVE format sound file, and decode using the recorded sound
  35. in that file. This is very handy if you've previously recorded some audio, or someone sends you a digitized sound file. Please note that the file must be in the WAVE format, sampled as 8 bit audio at 22050 kHz.

  38. Under the Edit  menu, there are several options:

  40. Copy
  41. This allows you to copy the decoded text or picture to the clipboard, depending on which mode you are in. As of now now, in a text mode, it only selects all of the decoded text, I hope to add support for selecting a portion of the text.

  43. If you want to be able to copy a FAX image, you need to make sure you give MultiMode enough memory, as faxes tend to be quite large. I would suggest 10000K or so, some experimentation may be necessary. You can also copy SSTV pictures to the clipboard.

  46. Clear
  47. This allows you to clear the text window. To clear the Fax window, hit the spacebar.

  50. Preferences...
  51. The Preferences are fully explained under their own section, which is next.

  54. Register...
  55. Select this to register your copy of MultiMode. You'll be asked to enter your name and registration number. Optionally, you can enter your email address. The information you enter is stored in your License file.

  58. Under the Control  menu, there are several options:

  60. Fax Calibration
  61. Used to calibrate Fax mode for the actual sound input rate of your Mac.

  64. Transmit Mode
  65. Places MultiMode in the transmit mode, allowing you to send information, via your Mac‚Äôs audio output (or serial port for CW).

  68. Receive Mode
  69. Places MultiMode in the receive mode, allowing you to decode audio fed into your Mac‚Äôs sound input port.

  72. Build Fax File
  73. Creates a transmit file which can later be sent in FAX mode.

  77. Creates a transmit file which can later be sent in SSTV mode.
